Signing university-level cooperation agreements

The University of Jyväskylä negotiates new cooperation agreements on a university-level with foreign higher education institutes, when needed. The Head of International Office coordinates the negotiations for agreements. At the moment the university has a wide selection of foreign partners and new agreements are concluded very selectively.

The agreements can be broad cooperation framework agreements (Memorandums of Understanding) or concrete student and teacher exchange agreements.

Signing a new university-level agreement requires that

  • the university has prior (e.g. research) cooperation with the higher education institute in question
  • at least two faculties in different fields support the agreement

    Faculty-level agreements

In addition to university-level agreements, each department/faculty can sign their own cooperation agreements with the best partners in their own field. In these cases the dean of the faculty in question decides on signing the agreements. It is possible to contact the international coordinator of a specific faculty regarding agreement initiatives.
